Wrong Powerball numbers in newspaper causes heartache for Boise man 12:28 PM MDT on Tuesday, October 18, 2005
David Gale Idaho's NewsChannel 7 BOISE -- A misprint of the Powerball numbers in the Idaho Statesman gave a Boise man the greatest shock and disappointment of his life.

Larry Sanceri of Boise went through a range of emotions Sunday. First he thought he had matched five numbers in the the Powerball game and won $200,000, only to learn later the numbers in the newspaper were from last Wednesday's drawing.
Larry Sanceri bought $30 worth of lottery tickets Saturday, and the next day when he saw in the newspaper that five of his six numbers matched-up, he was sure he had won at least $200,000.
But when he tried to redeem the ticket, he was told otherwise.
"They put it in, the music plays and the lady gives me $3, throws my ticket in the trash. I say, 'no, no, no. there's a mistake.' She says, 'no, you've won $3.' I go, 'that's not possible,' and I show her the paper and the ticket. She gets confused," said Sanceri.
Sanceri called the Idaho Statesman who he says apologized, but didn't offer him a satisfactory explanation.
********LOSER MAN********* "If you're wrong on a misprint of one or two numbers, that's understandable. But five numbers to be completely off? I don't think so. Somebody screwed up here and somebody has to do something to make me happy," said Sanceri. ********LOSER MAN*********
As it turns out, the numbers in the newspaper were a reprint from Wednesday’s drawing.
Video Clip Watch KTVB report Sanceri says he intends to hire an attorney and further pursue the mix-up.
The Idaho Statesman did not immediately return NewsChannel 7’s calls for a comment.
