Heather Martin - When Are You Coming Home

From a guy who has a really tender spot for cute little girls (keep it clean, pervs!!!), this knocked me on my heels.

I stole this from NSC but I had to. He posted the words.

Guess what you are all getting next year?

It's Hard Not To Get Bitter Sometimes

The first female Marine Officer died today in Iraq and what are the top stories on CNN?
  • Suicide car bomb kills at least 40 in Baghdad
  • Bush opens intensive talks on Iraq Video
  • Annan says bye, tells U.S. to use power wisely
  • Weather disrupts search for missing climbers
  • What's in a name for Barack Obama? Read
  • U.S. to China: Open markets or face sanctions
  • Children's killings spark civil war fears Read
  • CNNMoney: Gas prices take a breather
  • Warning signs marked Kim family's deadly journey
  • Terror quiz trips up new intelligence chairman
  • Nicole Richie arrested, accused of DUI Video
  • SI.com: NBA going back to leather after protests
  • CNN Wire: Latest updates on world's top stories
So if you are a spoiled, drunkard, anorexic socialite caught drinking and driving, you get top billing over Major McClung who lost her life today?

Fuck you, media.

Un-Chain me, Lovely Daughter

I sent this back to my 12-year-old daughter when she sent me a chain letter to "11 people who mean the most to you."

Sis,

I love you so much but I don’t like to participate in these chain emails. I don’t want to hurt your feelings but I don’t want you to fall into the habit of sending these things out. The vast majority of people find these things annoying and are considered “junk mail.”

Junk mail is a big problem because just like any other system, the internet has a capacity, kind of like a pipeline. The more stuff that is sent through, the slower it gets because there is so much stuff being pushed through. So when people send this stuff, not only is it annoying but it clogs up the pipes of the internet which slows down everything from email to webpages.

Your single (or 11) email(s) might not seem to make much of a difference but when you think about all the people who might participate, you could see how these things create hundreds, maybe thousands of useless emails across the net.

Again, I love you and appreciate the thought. This is a good lesson for you to learn because everyone knows “that person” who sends them a lot of useless, annoying email to everyone they know. Make sure YOU are not that person for someone else.

Another benefit is that when you DO send something to a lot of people, they will take it seriously. If you send out every little thing, people will just roll their eyes and say “more crap from Stephanie.”

I have a three-way tie for #1 in my life and you are one of them.

Don't Do This

Let's get this straight from the start

I hate Blogger.

Viper's Den, Part 1 was a jewel of my blogging abilities and in one fell swoop, I lost everything because the directions weren't clear after transitioning to the new beta blogger.

I was/am crushed.

I will try to recreate all that I can with this resurrected version but it looks like I lost everything older than May 2006.

Thank God for Google archive and Bloglines which saved the last 100 posts.

I've lost a lot.I might be able to recreate about half.

I don't have the time to do this.

I hate Blogger.

Update: Nevermind. I wrote this on a replacement blog but got the original back. Blogger rocks.
